Rajasthan International Folk Festival is known as India’s first annual folk festival that celebrates the traditional folk music and arts. This festival first took place in 2007 and since then the RIFF society (Mehrangarh Museum Trust and the Jaipur Virasat Foundation) tries to rekindle the magic of folk and fusion every year in October by collecting connoisseurs of folk music and arts from all over the world.

This beautiful music festival will be set against the grand backdrop of the Mehrangarh Fort and will feature an assortment of events like a jazz night, a Rajasthani night, gypsy and traditional dance forms and early morning ragas to soothe you. The festival will coincide with the brightest full moon i.e. Sharad Poornima. The donor passes to this event range from minimum fee of Rs. 300 through which you can attend any one interactive folk session to the ‘full donor pass’ worth Rs. 4,500 that permits you to enjoy the spirit of Rajasthan by visiting forts and museums along with attending the fest. You can book your ticket/donor passes online around May 2012. Bear in mind that the trust follows a strict ‘no cancellation and no refund’ policy.

How to get to Jodhpur

Jodhpur is the second largest city in Rajasthan and is well connected by air, rail and road. Jodhpur has regular flights from Delhi and Mumbai. Direct trains from the major cities in India is available to reach Jodhpur. To travel by road, you can book your taxi well in advance especially during peak season.
